A Prayer

Stained is the blade that removes the world's heart,
give to its still-bleeding flesh my sharp teeth.

A vessel shines brightest 'fore it's taken apart,
a gold-plated soul that has no need of sleep.

Now my brain's jeweled with eyes grown inside,
what stares back in the mirror is beyond my belief.

Into my body this oath I inscribe,
make me into a blade with no sheath.

Penned by my hand on Tisday, the 19th of Lleian, in the year 7 AC.
