Spirean Couplets of Pride

Spinesreach hasn't got it all
(The cold 'round here is worst of all)
But what we've got's camraderie:
That super bond 'tween them an' me!

When I escaped that stupid Isle
With imp, kelki, and lots of style
I washed up on the rocky shore
With robe and pack and not much more.

But there were distant inklings, too,
Of Shadow, loss, of trials pulled through.
I haven't got those fragments back
But Comrades see it not as lack

Regardless of forgotten past
(A ready chance me to lambast)
They brought me in as one of them:
"Look towards the future, carpe diem!"

It's for these people that I stay,
And weather out the coldest days
The warmth inside makes splendid heat
The tundra's cold winds for to beat

No hearth or firepit's as bright
As my dear comrades' burning light
That, set within my little heart
Inspires me to do my part!

And so with Pride I pen this verse
No City's better, lots are worse
Than Spinesreach, precious home of mine
Where all comrades strive for Divine.

And you - yes, YOU! - could join the fold
And cast off bigotries of old
Partake with all of us the bond
Of which all Spireans are fond.

It's more than drink or fashion sense
(Though these we have, in my defence)
But precious memories we've made
And happy times - yes, these in spades!

That causes pen to come to page
(As always has, through every age)
Inspires art, and effort blessed
In Spinesreach - Sapience's best.

Penned by my hand on Falsday, the 4th of Khepary, in the year 509 MA.
