One inside the Other

You ask, "What does it mean to be good?"
Through time this question withstood.

Pray not to define evil by good,
But consider: what is evil but good tortured?

Tortured by its own hunger and thirst,
When good is hungry it seeks food where it knows to first,
And if it does not find it, in the darkest caves it will be nursed.

When it thirsts it will drink even of festered waters,
For that is where it found its answers.

We are good when we give of ourselves
And you are not evil for seeking gain for yourself.

We are good when we are aware of our conversation,
And you are not evil when your tongue trills without direction.
A stumbling speech will strengthen a faction

We are good in innumerable ways,
And you are not evil when you are not good.
You are only loitering and sluggard.

Penned by my hand on Tisday, the 11th of Chakros, in the year 474 MA.
