Tenebrous

O Muse who hears the sighs of many men
The gray twilight lends me this unrest
A day once lived may not be lived again
And seldom man has ever done his best.
I beg my heart be still inside my chest
As solemn sun sinks slowly in the sea
Seeking tender grace in daily rest
Leaving stygian night to cover me.
Yet plagued as I am by history
All recent trials past, the Great Wheel turns
With all mistakes in true finality
My mind, a flame, within me burns
And as I am accustomed to its light
I welcome the potential of the night.

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Slyphian, in the year 257 MA.
