In whose lap..

White stars dance on the night sky,
Many look, among them I
who asks not 'how' but only 'why'
these lights can always feel so high.

After the light, the black is nigh
shadows, once small, no longer shy
engulf my all- so slick and sly,
yet I fight back. I always try.

What a world, where I must defy!
Once friends, once brother, once ally.
And yet, I stand with no goodbye.
No smile, no frown, no longing sigh.

Children, lovers, decay and die.
I'll not ask how, but only reply;
when all my life has passed me by,
tell me, in your lap do I lie?

Salem Sykes Jade

Penned by my hand on the 12th of Arios, in the year 250 MA.
