Shalamar's Song

To Shalamar DeLyon- With Recognition
----

I have no memory of the day.
The sun shines still now, though, as I've been told.
Your mother screamed; masochistic fight.
Birthed a silent child with a heart of gold.

Now, where is he?
Where is the boy's inheritance-to-be?
Why naught for h?
Alone and tired save Trabarg in his security.

His mother and father left too soon.
Darkness hide his intellect, but still I know.
Blank stares and pained looks can only shroud;
Fierce Wolf and Huntress left him alone.

Who saves him now?
Brought SHAME to his inheritance, somehow!
How can he fear?
He's got the world beside him, distant but so vaguely near.

I've said it along.
I never claimed that I knew right from wrong.
But can he be strong,
When only distant friends can sing him His own Song?

Penned by my hand on the 16th of Ios, in the year 204 MA.
