The labyrinth of my mind

My steps echo inside my head
as I search for a certain memory
Chasing it through the great labyrinth of hallways
that make out my own mind

I stop and sink down to my knees,
leaning at the cold and naked floor
Trying to catch my breath
For the brief moments I allow myself to rest
I look at the vastness surrounding me,
stretching out to eternity in all directions

All I hear now is my shallow breathing,
bouncing of the empty walls
Can not rest, can not wait
I need to find my memory
Once again I chose a random path
And dash off into the distance

Heart is pounding, vision made blurry
by all the memories floating by me
And now as I am moving again
my ears buzz with the sound of distant thoughts

I suddenly stop as I see you
glowing in the darkness as a beacon
And I fall to the ground
Finally at peace
And I rest
assured that you will watch over me

Penned by my hand on the 20th of Lanosian, in the year 199 MA.
