Poetry News Post #1410

This is not for you.

Soft songs burst to blinding white
like stars that shake the dome of night,
exciting and igniting me.

New pain blossoms in my mind
recorded in the dust for time
entrusted to the empty winds.

Come feel me as I'm bleeding out
Come fear the thrill that fills you out.

Mark my mood with tears to come
when grief blooms like the maudlin strum
that sings the sun until the end.

And if the sea gave up Her foam
would oceans save Her coral home?
Or would the sea freeze over then?

I'll never re-arrange my hurt
It's written in dead leaves and dirt.
Come feel me as I bleed, baby
Come feel an old song bleeding out.

To the Vain Night-Angel; I have no doubt you think it, yet these words
are not for you. To the populace that must endure my ramblings and they
offend you, my sincerest apologies. After so many years of solitude my
emotions grow thick and sour like a most bitter monster lost with his
devils. Despite my best endeavours, I am relieved to have an avenue to
express myself and rid myself of these demons. I thank you for your
patience with me.

- Saige O'Lyryus-Kemestar

(Please note that I am HONOURED AND PROUD to use the surname bestowed on
me at birth. Shame to my brethren who so readily abhor their heritage on
a whim! Blood trickles much thicker than water and despite any wrong
doings you percieve your family has committed through the mouths of the
unlearned, the fact remains that you are still of that family, a
historically great family with a wonderful tales of ancestors and
culture. ALL HAIL O'LYRYUS!)

Penned by my hand on the 23rd of Haernos, in the year 172 MA.
