The Light in the Night

When I close my eyes at Night
Dreams begin to writhe inside
And the pain seems far from my mind
And in the distance I see light

I reach out my hand and hope
that each step will bring me close
I long to touch the stars
So close, yet so far

And as I lay there all quiet like
I watch the night sky
And I close my eyes and cry
I just can't seem to find the light

Trust, where has it gone?
Love, where have you run?
Joy, never to be found again
Hope, you used to be my friend

Tears are my salvation.
Pain is my inspiration
Unhappiness is my comfort
Loneliness is my world.

So far the light from my eyes
So far my hand from the light
So far the hope seems to be
So far, my love, so far from me.

Penned by my hand on the 17th of Severin, in the year 160 MA.
