Always The Rain

Written by: The Black Rose, Drakken, Dominator of the Tempest

Addressed to: Xera Storm, Heiress of the Tempest

Rain, wash my tears away,
Flush these crystals from my face.
These hardened sorrows of burning frost,
Etching my skin with lines of loss.
Rain, wash the day away,
My greed bore my love away.
Callous laughter bleeds the way,
Another dream tucked away.
Rain, wash the mud away,
This entrenched life of decay.
Flush this barren and brackish marsh,
This swamp may at last yield to quay.
Rain, lash out upon my way,
Expose the stones that lie here paved.
Clear the air of rising hate,
That I may breathe and find my way.
Rain, wash this scene away,
All I've loved has gone away.
Free this soul of its despair,
Measuring time, day by day.

Penned by my hand on the 17th of Chakros, in the year 154 MA.
