Broken Hearts

When you look at me,
What do you see?
When I look at you,
I see a fantasy.
I close my eyes and reunite with you,
Day after night.
Holding you close,
And cuddling you right.
There is a spark that I can see,
I wonder if you can see it, too.
It puts a smile on my face,
Never knowing what to do.
When I look into your eyes,
I see someone who is caring.
I can see someone who is happy,
And I picture myself, holding you.
Hoping that you will see it, too.
I always picture us together having fun,
All the time, in the rain, or in the sun.
But I'll keep dreaming,
Here in my space.
Until the day comes,
When I can say all of this to your face.
Before I said you broke my heart,
But I failed to mention, that from the start:
You helped me heal when I bled,
And even broken hearts can mend.
I love you, Xera.

Penned by my hand on the 13th of Haernos, in the year 146 MA.
