Fade

You're unlike yourself, you're so changed,
So I shape a long face to wear on your stage,
Have my pose with high hands, and indignant air,
Don't walk away, baby, please stay.
Show me how you burn in the night,
My mid-morning hero, one hot heavy sigh,
Like the sun to the dial, the moon and it's tide,
It's time to fade, baby, come fade.
Forget tries to fill up my eyes,
To fade from forgotten, such lovely dark lies,
Let the lies that we lead be more perfect than truth,
Don't walk away, don't. Walk away.
Make love to me here on the floor,
A long lingering look, then leave like before,
And I'll put on the mask I save for despair,
Then feign I have brave things to say.

Penned by my hand on the 23rd of Chakros, in the year 146 MA.
