It started with a ring

It started with a ring.
A symbol for her love, she thought.
Throughout the land she searched.
Then one was offered, but the price was more then she had.
Off once more she scoured the lands, ridding it of the vile rats that
haunted it.
They talked while she humbling replied, "I have not enough yet."
The voice was kind that answered back, and a welcome respite from her
toils.
The month wore on, and finally after her turmoil, she reached the
required amount.
She ran off in search of the voice that spoke often to her, the holder
of the ring.
During her toils she had doubts..
Slowly, she spoke of them, hesitant, afraid.
But the voice reassured her, and they became a welcome counsellor, a
friend.

Upon reaching the holder of the ring, she realised one thing.
She had grown to love and trust this voice, and before her stood the
holder.
Beautiful, and intelligent, radiant in many forms, and she was
speechless, overwhelmed.
In time, she won the holders heart, or so she thought.
They loved, laughed, and then the holder proclaimed she was no longer in
love with her.
Sadness overwhelmed her, and she removed the ring,
sending it back to where it once came.

It started with a ring.

Penned by my hand on the 8th of Chakros, in the year 73 MA.
