Liquor

Liquor,
So good,
A blessing and a curse,

Pantherpiss,
Mother's milk,
Your little baby's nurse.

'Pon one day when I drank too much,
I got crazy ideas boilin' over,
I thought I was strong, buff an' such,
Now I wish I had been sober.

Thought of something stupid, and blurted out,
"Hey! I can do that!"
With a laugh and a cackle, a whoop and a shout,
I was driven to the mat.

Now I realize I was dumb,
And take a word of advice from me,
When the mead starts making you numb,
Sober's the way to be.

Penned by my hand on the 11th of Midsummer, in the year 145 MA.
