Mistakes

I wander through the darkness
a never ending escape
words oh so tender
but lies in the end

I let you close to me again
only to be betrayed
I let myself love you again
the mistakes that I make

I should have known in the end
it would be my heart broken again
I should have realized then
that you were full of deceit

The same old lies
the same story replayed
The same pain inside
oh, the mistakes that I make

whispered words and loving embrace,
a stole kiss was all that it took
to weave your web of lies
and to rip my soul asunder

time and time again I fall
no escape, no withdrawl
no where to hide from myself
no where to find what you stole.

Never again will I be so naive
Never again will I trust kind words
Never again will I hurt from you
Never again will I make that mistake

Emptiness is my comforting arms
Darkness is my bed, my security
ever winding through my soul
this is what you gave to me

A gift from you, one final goodbye
you've broken my spirit
and my heart lies down to die
to the world be told, the mistakes that I make.

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Ios, in the year 143 MA.
