Foresaken

Darkness settles on the lands,
Reaching out with withered hands:
Looming shadows, bitter cold,
Don't believe a word you're told..

Children once we were and are,
Now so lost, we've gone that far.

In older times, smiles bright,
We lived and played, such a sight.
Dancing, singing, howls at the moon,
To those we loved, such a boon.

Trapped forever, black as pitch,
Once a daughter, now a witch.

Lost forgotten, heart of coal,
Once a son now has no soul.

Laughter still in darkness calls,
Games of old above the falls.
Hollow echoes, wicked play,
Silenced by the break of day.

Memories you've since forgot,
Behind the veil, wrapped in rot,
Your children forever smile:
Demons now, it's been awhile.

Time shapes what gods foresake.

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Variach, in the year 143 MA.
