Future Now

A legacy of times gone by,
It's no small wonder I survived.
Hah! It isn't like I didn't try,
The times long passed was when I strived.
Looking - What am I today?
A creature forged on life and fear.
There were the times I wished to cry,
But not once did I shed a tear.
It isn't like I wanted to say...

A legacy of times that came,
The scars I bear remember pain.
Hah! It isn't like I had no fun,
Those young brave years when I gained fame.
Seeing - What did I become?
A creature trained on sights of crumb.
There were the times I wished to howl,
But never did, not even now.
It wasn't like I weren't the same...

A legacy of times that were,
The memories, they still remain.
Hah! It isn't like I didn't err,
But do I wonder; am I tame?
Thinking - What am I right now?
A creature that now hunts for her.
Feeling oft like moth to flame,
Always being found in tow.
There were the times I wished to scream
her name in anguish, and I dream:
I dream about the Future Now.

Penned by my hand on the 14th of Ios, in the year 142 MA.
