slumber

In the depth of darkness dear
Voices pale, and shadows dance
Searching for some long lost answer
Falling deeper in my trance

Night-time stalkings drawing further
Taste of blood fades from my lips
Screams of horror, quiet triumph
Empire's grandeur slowly slips

In the shadows of my slumber
Many things shall come to pass
Till the voice of She who rules me
Calls me to Blood's hunt at last.

We slumber, Greatmother, but we remember... and we shall heed your
call...

Penned by my hand on the 24th of Midautumn, in the year 71 MA.
