Self-pity

Written by: Lyne Vespertine

I have parchment and ink
And my tears and I think
What selfish desire
That builds faster than fire!
My sorrow and lament
No, it hasn't been spent
Not yet, until seen
My tragedy

What blindness I share
Before all who don't care
And a silence that chokes
Like one massive joke
Through this I'll not learn
Nor make hurt adjourned
I still miss what I'd tasted
And this parchment's been wasted

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Lanosian, in the year 139 MA.
