Poetry News Post #1139

Not Afraid

Written by: Flamewright Ayalaine Teilei, Makeshift Midwife

I will never cry for mercy
though I may cry out in pain.
Try your best to corrupt me -
your efforts will be in vain.

So fling your fortune cards about
You can watch my body fail.
Just remember what I said before:
Light will always prevail.

Call your minions out to haunt me
Have them rip and maim and kill.
Yes, you can defile my body,
but my pure soul you never will.

Perhaps this may be your desire,
but I have yet to see Darkness quench Fire.
Perhaps this may be your desire

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Khepary, in the year 139 MA.
