Taking up the challenge

That might have been the worst prose that I've ever heard
I can expect better poetry from a week-old dog turd
If you're going to write, maybe try it discreetly
Else you shatter and disgrace the art form completely
You try to make a call to your self-proclaimed fame
When it's really just you who praises your name
For the last twenty years I've heard little more from you
Than the moaning and crying and complaining you do
You try to shoot others down in the fair name of prose
But those attempts are pathetic, and we see what that shows
"And while you're there, don't get scared if you get caught in the rain"
What the hell does that mean? Why the hell is it so lame?
You're a whore for a rhyme and what's your excuse?
Your poems are lacking a point and you're lacking a use
I choked when you said "And I am famous as a star"
Barely a handful of people even know who you are
Other than the whiny girl who can't do her own work
And is quick to refer to everyone else as a jerk
I will commend Azuya for taking up his quill
And writing something better than you ever will
Haven't you noticed that all your poems are exactly the same?
"So and so is mean" "This guy's a jerk" "Someone else is to blame!"
Just because you write a lot doesn't mean you're any good
Especially since your misuse of our language cannot be understood
When we first met, Misty, I confess that I thought you were cute
But that image has long since died, and I wish you'd gone mute
Your impish reactions and off-key vernacular
Were funny when I was younger and I thought them spectacular
But it's been thirty years, and as most people do,
I've matured and grown up. So tell me, when will you?
I think I speak for the world when I say we've all had it
With those tired attempts at talent and the shots you take at it
On behalf of Sapience, please put your quill away
Give in. Give out. Give up. What more can I say?
Let 1093 be your last. Yes, I think that would be best.
You should lay down and retire and give us all a rest.
Because there's an old addage, if I can correctly recall
"If you can't say anything worth listening to, don't say anything at
all."
With love,
Kiyo
