You've tried so hard to stand for yourself,
So shine like the first evening star.
Don't take it so hard, now
Even if you fell,
Remember
How lovely you are.

Why do you weep when they love you?
They all had such brave things to say.
What do you see when you're dreaming?
Then suddenly cry, and turn your face away.

He never promised to stay.

You loved like the earth's best,
Yet bruised like the night sky,
I still see it fall from your breath.
If they're only sleeping,
If their life was your cry,
Maybe it's time for lonely hearts to rest.

What do you see when you're dreaming?
And bury your face in your hands.
Your eyes are tired from their weeping,
Ah, will you ever truly understand?
I was just a soft woman.

He was always the better man.

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Haernos, in the year 136 MA.
