Discoveries

From the moment our eyes open for the first time
From the first air that rushes into our lungs
I have been discovering what is mine
And what this world holds for me

I opened my eyes to gaze to the heavens
And was granted such beautiful sight
Then deep in your eyes I found it anew
The deep swirling eternal beauties of night

My hand reached to touch perfection I saw
Ingrained in my memory was the awe
Of someone so interesting and wonderful
Could feel as amazing as they were beautiful

Tastes on my tongue danced like phantoms
Lingering in my mouth and on my lips
And now all I can remember of taste
Is the flavour of your lips when we kiss

Smells of a rose garden were sweet
The smell of chocolates were sweeter
All my life I thought they were the richest
Til my nose led me to you, some smell better

A thousand voices raised in a chorus
Lifted my soul, made it fly
Without ever hearing your soft lilting voice
It could never have flown quite as high

So what exactly have I discovered?
What the greatest gift is to discover..
I have found a friend, a sister,
But best of all is she as my lover.

Penned by my hand on the 8th of Khepary, in the year 136 MA.
