Open battlefields
Hi folks,
There’s a new addition to the Battlefield (HELP BATTLEFIELD) system we’re trialling: open battlefields.
Battlefields are normally closed participation (i.e. only the invited parties can participate), but an open battlefield allows you to create a battlefield somewhere and just allow anybody to show up and contest you. And I mean anyone! You can’t trust it to particular orgs – you will have to continue using closed battlefields for that.
This essentially allows you to grandstand in an area and invite people to come fight you while making use of battlefield’s other mechanics (terms of engagements, e.g. restrictions and lockouts).
When you create your draft battlefield, simply do BATTLEFIELD OPEN CHALLENGE, set the start time and any terms of engagement you want and then commit it. The battlefield will start when the appointed time comes!
There is no need for people that want to contend the battlefield to enlist, simply show up and enter the battlefield! HELP BATTLEFIELD has been updated with the full information.
Once gain, we’re trialling this to see how it gets used so expect changes depending on what we observe.
