A children's song accompanying a game from the second mortal Epoch:
"Who shall I be, sister, who shall I be?"
"Be the Fire itself, brother, let it consume thee"
"Who shall I be, sister, who shall I be?"
"Let Light fill thee, brother, so knowledge will be."
"Who shall I be, sister, who shall I be?"
"The Poet suits thee, brother, Inspire me!"
"Who shall I be, sister, who shall I be?"
"Twist words with lies, brother, Let Darkness eat thee."
"Who shall I be, sister, who shall I be?"
"Feel the Rhythm, brother, come hunt for me."
"Who shall I be, sister, who shall I be?"
"Let Waters of change, brother, influence thee."
"Who shall I be, sister, who shall I be?"
"Fear not the Corrupt, brother, let it fill thee"
"Who shall I be, sister, who shall I be?"
"Bring Mirth to me, brother, set laughter free."
"Who shall I be, sister, who shall I be?"
"Renewal is, brother, a way for thee."
"Who shall I be, sister, who shall I be?
"Stalwart and brave, brother, Valourous be."
"Who shall I be, sister, who shall I be?
"Like mighty winds, brother, which chaos flees."
"Who will you be, sister? Who will you be?"
"No essence will come, brother, mortal shall I be."
Although only witnessed twice in this epoch, the process known as
'emergence' has occurred among the Divine many times in the complete
span of time. Though mortals tend to think of a God as immortal, it is
the Essence inside Them that is timeless. For reasons completely
indiscernible to mortals, there are moments when Essence will abandon
its 'shell' to seek out a new form. Though the inner quality of Essence
remains unchanged, the 'shell' it seeks out will influence how that
quality it presented to the world.
Some say that if Essence were to exist in the world without such a
'shell', its power would either destroy or change the things around it
so radically that it would pose a threat to the Celestine's creation.
