The battle of Azdun

On the 8th of Khepary, strange clouds began to gather over the land. As
the populace watched with growing wonder, strange winds carried wisps of
dark air, forming them into the shadowed illusion of a sprawling city.
As violet fire flickered through its towers, the voice of Zsarachnor was
heard as he cried in protest.

Immediately, adventurers fled to Zsarachnor's crypt, where they found
him kneeling on the floor as he chanted in an arcane language. The goal
of this soon became clear as Llazuth, the Demonic spider Queen,
attempted to counter the old vampire's curses with arcane utterings of
her own.

Growing worried, Llazuth called her spider guards to her and set out to
distract Zsarachnor. Putting Avialle and Rosalind in charge of her
troops, she promised them that victory over the undead would be the
reward for those who helped her succeed. To do so, she instructed them,
they would need to destroy all subjects of Zsarachnor - and thus
undermine his power.

Yet even then, Zsarachnor was in conference with Utansi. It was not long
until word of the dealings reached the ears of Prince Zahmekoses,
highest of the Consanguine blood. Calling all of his race to the aid of
the vampire General, Zahmekoses rushed to destroy the forces of Llazuth
and thus weaken her, as well.

Many fell on both sides as ghouls, vampires and spiders slaughtered
their attackers. Yet in the end, it was the forces lead by the Prince
who were victorious. Gleeful, Zsarachnor lead the party towards the
webbed caverns to which the trapped Llazuth had fled. Weakened from the
loss of her people, she quickly succumbed to the might of the group,
which included many warriors of the Consanguine race.

In gratitude, the Vampire warlord Zsarachnor promised to Zahmekoses a
special gift. What shall come of this odd alliance between the childer
of Belladona and her ancient foe, time shall tell. In the meantime, the
broken body of Llazuth lies hidden in some dark place. Will the demonic
queen rise again? Will the forces of blood at last defeat the Spider
Queen? Only the future holds the answers...

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Khepary, in the year 109 MA.
