Early in the dawn on the 9th of Variach, year 465 MA, the battlechants of a small division of Haekathi, bastard half-breeds of the Dreikathi, resounded across the land as they marched upon the city of Esterport. They pillaged their way through the markets, looting and burning, only to meet resistance as warriors from each of the major cities showed up in defence.
While the battle raged in Esterport, the cities of Spinesreach and Enorian soon realized that the raid on the trade city was little more than a diversion. Alerted by the suffering of the twin spirits of the Master Crystals, Nevithor and Iernos, the citizens quickly discovered small elite forces of Haekathi soldiers within their walls. Led by Cau-Dreika Fathio, the Hammer, in Spinesreach, and Cau-Dreika Beytha, the Scythe, in Enorian, the strike force attacked the crystalline walls guarding the Master Crystal with a strange resonating device.
As the citizens of Enorian and Spinesreach felled the members of the strike force, the two commanders were quick to make a retreat. With the Haekathi fleeing, the defenders destroyed the resonating devices, but not before they had managed to fracture the crystalline walls.
Retreating through the Vashnar Mountains, the Haekathi forces made their way into the Bloodwood with Sapience's warriors in close pursuit. Boarding their ship, the 'Fist of the Autarch', the combined forces of the continent came to a final battle with the Fathio and Beytha, as well as the ship's captain, Capu-Dreika Iotha Keldanso.
As the warriors of Sapience explored the ship, they came across research reports and letters, detailing the Haekathi's experiments upon the Master Crystals, as well as revealing the Haekathi to be the cause of the recent irregular activity exhibited by them.
With fires ravaging the ship and spreading to its engines, the warriors quickly disembarked, rescuing the ship's slaves moments before a massive explosion blew the craft out of the waters.
In the wake of the Haekathi incursion upon Sapience, citizens have noted with worry that the Dreikathi sludge, a remnant of the Aalen Bloom, has become active and begun spreading, although not before inadvertently tracking it throughout the continent.
