Qeddwyn began to remember a distant past today, one that had been
completely obscured by the actions of the Artificer at the end of the
Second Epoch of Mortality. Long thought to be the beginning of existence
for mortal sentience, it seems that much history existed long before
this period. The process of extracting this history, however, relies on
Qeddwyn slowly regaining the lessons he learned in his time as a full
member of the Ankyrean Order.
It seems that at the end of the Second Epoch of Mortality, the
Artificer, brooding over a series of drastic losses, used His powers to
set the entire world inside an illusion of His design. Entire curtains
of illusion hung over the land at large intervals, cutting people off
from reality completely. His power sovereign in His own realm, He was
able even to dupe the other Immortals, save Varian.
This act, to which Qeddwyn was strangely enough a witness, is known as
the Grand Artifice and its effects are far reaching and not entirely
understood. Complete details of his account can be found in the HELP
MYTHOS scroll.
