For years, the Haag near North of Trees has been dragging off adventurers and toying with them to create undead beings of the nearby mires. She was never satisfied with them, tossing them aside carelessly only to continue her experiments without any care to the creations she had already made. These experimentations only increased in time, bringing much concern to many of them.
A Sage among them, Barkhul, had long spoke out against the Haag and tried to bring her down. It was never permanent, however, and only drove her more mad to find a perfected experiment. He felt hopeless for his people and for outsiders that would end up joining them.
The Dark Matron eventually came to notice the constant increase of creatures in the mire brought about by necromantic energies and grew concerned that the imperfect creatures could cause havok towards Her nearby Nazetu and even eventually Her Isle far south from them. So, She sent out two of Hers to investigate the ongoing situation. Eventually, She saw potential in them from the information gathered and She went to Barkhul to offer aide. What aide was offered exactly is not known.
On the 4th of Chakros, year 443, Barkhul took it upon himself to bring the Haag to a permanent end - having finally the strength to do so. As a reminder to all those who might challenge the Bihrkaen, he left her torn apart body at North of Trees. It was found by Meltas and Valingar, who questioned the situation and his motivations.
Eventually, Barkhul used some of his strength to conjure a thick mist to cover the Ashtan Bog and Birka Mire areas - shrouding them entirely from all outsiders. It is unknown what is going on beyond the mist, besides that a village is being built. In time, Barkhul promised an envoy will be sent out when his people are ready for outsiders once again.
Penned by my hand on the 4th of Chakros, in the year 443 MA.
