If you'd like to force Aetolia to stop sending you Xterm 256 colors, use CONFIG XTERM OFF. This is a LOGIN-BASED system, and Aetolia auto-enables for any client that supports it, so you will need to repeat this at each login in order to keep the functionality disabled.

Mudbot users may find this helpful until someone is able to patch their color recognition.
