Hey folks,
They say you should always leave something better than you found it, and Ictinus has exceeded expectations on that in every conceivable way. I cannot overstate enough how much of an impact he has had in reshaping the game these past years, and how much the game flourished under his leadership, direction and talents. He brought much needed life back into the game, and was my partner-in-crime for numerous events. He was an enabling presence in the best way possible, no matter what crazy ideas I came up with, he'd be there to support them and help bring them to life. This of course includes Aetolia's years-long storyline that culminated last night with the end of the Worldeater Saga, a task which he was all for bringing about from his very first day as Producer. He is going to be sorely missed, and leaves enormous shoes behind for me to step into.
For those of you who aren't as familiar with me, I'm an old face around here. I was a player since 2003 (with a somewhat notorious reputation), and joined the team as a volunteer Celani in 2008, where I played the role of Severn (and still played him off and on over the years), as well as a volunteer coder. I was eventually hired in 2011 as Assistant Producer under Galleus, and then as Producer when Galleus left in 2012. I stepped back from the Producer role at the end of 2016 due to personal reasons, remaining as an assistant producer under Oleis's interim leadership, then Tiur, and finally Ictinus.
Together alongside Emellan, Keroc and our amazing team of Celani, I'm going to be striving to continue the excellent job that Ictinus has done, and building upon the amazing foundations he has left us with. We have an amazing admin team, community, and game world, and Ictinus had an immense presence in shaping all three.
Please note that anything you might have once contacted Ictinus about, you should now instead be contacting me with, whether it be via message or my e-mail razmael@aetolia.com.
Sometime in December, I'll be looking to hold a town hall so we can discuss the future, and answer any questions you might have about how we'll continue shaping the amazing world of Aetolia. More details will come on that closer to the time.
For now, I look forward to once more serving as your producer,
- Razmael/Michael Duncan.
