Hi folks!
I'm posting this here instead of on the Leaders news as it most likely affects those who cannot already read that board.
While this has been something of an informal guideline in the past, I am formalising the following rule pertaining to elections:
- It is not appropriate for orgs to restrict their members' participation in elections in any form. This includes imposing rules that prevent contestation and also includes punishing people for contesting or otherwise particiating in the election process.
'Punishing' is deliberately broad here, but it is safe to assume that in character squabbles and disagreements over elections and other political topics are entirely fine. Throwing someone out of an org for contesting you is not.
Penned by my hand on Kinsday, the 11th of Variach, in the year 498 MA.
