Good news, Divine!
Zaps have become a bit of a joke. People get zapped, har har, they're back doing what they were doing. While in the early days of IRE it was a punishment, now it's more of a flavor thing. And that's okay! Death is not so bad, and we don't want it to be too debilitating, we're not a permadeath game or anything.
So we've implemented a new god-command, GODSMITE <target>. This is essentially a zap, but an actual punishment. It is harder on experience, leaves no body to resurrect, and takes longer to get through death. It is also cumulative, each GODSMITE a player takes will be worse than the last, and it is not very forgiving.
There is no customization. When someone is godsmote, they and everyone else will know it is not a slap on the wrist.

PS Don't tell mortals. It'll be hilarious when the first one deserves it.
