O LEXADHRA
LADY YI
SHE OF MANY LEAVES, FACES, AND NAMES
INFINITELY STORIED
INDELIBLE ONE
GODDESS OF MEMORY

I can worship You, o Memory, but You've no need of prayers
Could sacrifice to You, but You've no need of mindless slayers.
Could sacrifice myself, but blood itself lacks fascination-
I'll paint in all the colors, just to show rapt dedication.

Stories are the only things that ever stay the same.
Peoples, places, come and go, but Memory remains.
That's why I wanna be a story, scored forevermore
on history, as tides are scored on cliffs beside the shore.

One day the Halls will take me, and I'll fall back to our King.
My flesh and bones will fall away, to feed Renewal's Spring-
and that's meant to be beautiful and selfless- but I'm not.
I'm ugly-hearted.
Selfish.
Let me NEVER be forgot!

I declare myself, o Memory- I'm more than pretty words.
You want tales full of intrigue, derring-do, and shocking turns,
and now that I've been Mirrored back, I'm everybody's curse.
I'll do the most, defying Death.
My promise ends my verse.

Penned by my hand on Kinsday, the 23rd of Celes, in the year 6 AC.
