Aetolia has started advertising on some popular sites, and we expect to
start seeing a lot more newbies soon. Please show new players courtesy
and respect in every way possible. If you are talking on the newbie
channel, please remember that Aetolia is a tough game to get the hang
of, and resist the temptation to give smartass non-answers to honest
questions.
We have begun appointing Guides, and more will be appointed over the
weekend. If you applied but were not selected this time, please try
again the next time we ask for applications.
Also, I have _temporarily_ lowered the requirement for becoming a mentor
to provide some encouragement for people to take new players under their
wing and show them the ropes. The new minimum requirement is 100 hours
played and level 40, but will be increasing again slowly over time. The
institution of mentorhood is a sacred one, and we will be watching
carefully to make sure that new proteges are getting the help they need.
If you are interested in being a mentor, read HELP MENTORS for more
information.
In helping a newbie surpass the difficult initial learning curve, you
are doing everyone a service by strengthening our playerbase. New
players are the lifeblood of the game; today's newbie is tomorrow's best
friend, guildmaster, or worthy opponent.
