Timeout

Yesterday there were some network problems with our ISP that caused the
game to be unavailable intermittently over the course of a few hours.
This is unfortunate and potentially dangerous if you're out hunting at
the time, but there is absolutely nothing we can do about it, save make
sure that we're using an ISP with a good track record of network
reliability (which we are). Let me stress that every game and service in
the world playable via Internet has problems such as this from time to
time; it's just a fact of life.

But you CAN protect yourself from massive experience loss while unable
to reconnect to Aetolia. The TIMEOUT command is not just there to make
sure you don't get in trouble for walking away from the keyboard; it is
there as well to protect your character in the event of a network
failure, or a power failure in your house, or your cat knocking coffee
into your computer, or any other event that unexpectedly terminates your
connection to Aetolia. So please, set a timeout and protect yourself.
HELP TIMEOUT explains the command.
