The Broken Hearts event is here! A spurned witch has placed a curse on the land, extracting the 'soul' of people's hearts into a crystallized container and then shattering it into four pieces.
SUMMARY
-------
Over the next 72 hours, you'll find broken-hearted suitors spawning randomly across Sapience. If you find a suitor, you'll need to look for the fragments of their hearts and make them whole again. The four pieces of their heart will be located in a random room in the same area as the suitor. Once you've found the heart pieces, you have to figure out how to put them together (details below) using a graphical puzzle! Once you've made the heart whole, give it to the broken-hearted suitor to restore them, and received a wilted flower from them in return which you can exchange for prizes at North of Trees.
SOLVER
------
When you've found the four heart fragments, you need to use the SOLVER to put them together. This is a graphical (or at least, as graphical as a MUD can be) interface where you must shift, rotate and flip the fragments around on a board until you form them into a heart shape. This was designed with MXP usage in mind, so turning that on if you don't have it on already is highly recommended. You need to both turn it on in your client settings, as well as in the game's config using CONFIG MXP ON. If your client doesn't support MXP, our Nexus web client (play.aetolia.com) does! If you have it turned on, you'll find controls on the right side of the solver board that you can simply click to manipulate the pieces.
If you don't have MXP there's still commands you can enter, though you may find the process a bit more arduous. Syntax as follows:
SOLVER VIEW
View the current status of the solver.
SOLVER ADD <fragment>
Add a fragment to the solver.
SOLVER REMOVE <fragment>
Remove a fragment from the solver.
SOLVER SHIFT <1-4> UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT
Move a fragment around on the solver's board.
SOLVER FLIP <1-4> HORIZONTAL/VERTICAL
Flip a fragment about its axis.
SOLVER ROTATE <1-4> LEFT/RIGHT
Rotate a fragment 90 degrees in a direction.
SOLVER TARGET
View what the target shape you're aiming towards is (it's the same for all).
If you have MXP enabled you'll see an interface like this along the right side:
<-- PIECE2 -->
up flip H
left right
down flip V
REMOVE
Up/left/right/down will shift the piece.
<-- and --> will rotate the piece.
Flip H/V will flip the piece horizontally or vertically.
REMOVE will remove the piece from the solver.
NOTE: Shapes will look a lot more elongated when rotated to 90 or 270 degrees due to the height of fonts generally being longer than the width.
PRIZES
------
A temporary shop will be set up ~some time soon~ at North of Trees with the following items purchasable with the wilted flowers:
Buff-giving chocolates 1 Flower each
Your favourite buff-giving chocolates.
Love potion 1 Flower each
A fun little novelty item. Drink it to gain the love sickness effect. What does love sickness do? You'll need to find out for yourself! Contains 20 sips and lasts for 5 minutes each sip.
Staff plushies 3 Flowers each
A set of plushies representing each of the currently active celani and admin. SQUEEZE the plush for a fun response that represents that person. Or stab the Keroc plushie when he nerfs your class and it might make you feel better. Tiur, Kyna and Diogen are unavailable in the shop and will be added to cryptic chests later on!
Fame line token 4 Flowers
Gives you a fame line for this event. Applied as soon as you buy it, so can't be transferred.
Transmute beetles 4 Flowers each
Transmute beetles are a new type of item that will change the appearance of the item the beetle is attuned for - similar to the NPC forgers in cities that change item appearances. Just TRANSMUTE <item> WITH <beetle>. It's a well-known fact that transmute beetles survive on a diet of gold sovereigns, and these broken heart themed beetles will consume 5000 gold per use.
Heartbreaker style scroll 7 Flowers each
Brand new style scroll for the Heartbreaker style.
