Vampires!
It's been a tumultuous week, but things are finally about settled. All major changes to vampires are, as of this post, implemented. Note that I say "Major" because we'll be tweaking things. Also, I'm lying. Primus choosing, while implemented, isn't quite ready. It's tough to get that ritual sufficiently Impressive Feeling.
I'll also update some helpfiles with all this new information. Bear with me, this is a little complicated and odd.
Because this gets messy, note that score now keeps track of your current Sire and your original Embracer. The command RECONNECTBLOOD will stick around to help reshape things.
Houses: When you elect a new House Leader, they will ascend to become the Childe of the Primus. Their childer will become disconnected. The previous HL will become childe of the new HL, preserving -most- of their bloodline. Because this gets really messy, the ex childer of the New HL will need to find new Sires and get reconnected.
Primus will be chosen by 4/5 of a vote of the Houseleaders, then made Primus via ritual using those 4 leaders' blood. Before that ritual, they will be Primus, but no one will be connected to them. This is bad! The ritual requires blood of the 4 HLs who chose the Primus, but only one needs to actually be there to swear fealty. Once this is done, the Primus will connect to all HLs as their Sire, and the Bloodlines are restored. The old Primus is left alone to rebuild their line. Also, if you're curious, a female Primus is still a Primus. We thought "Prima" sounded off.
Every season, in addition to knocking down the generation of those with no Sire, the vampires who are officially dormant (>30 days without logging in, or retired) will fall out of the Bloodline. The system will then check their childer, and the childe with the largest amount of progeny will take their dormant Sire's place. Now for the confusion! The potential two unconnected childer who did not win the "largest bloodline" contest will attach to their... oh god, let's use an example:
Sire: Simon
Childer: Sam, Dean, Spike
Sam and Dean have no childer. They are boring. Spike has three, Buffy, Angel, and Willow.
Angel and Buffy are boring, they have no childer. Willow has one, Mina.
Simon goes dormant because he is a fool who does not wish to play Aetolia any longer. Spike, having the largest bloodline, ascends to his spot. His childer are disconnected, and Sam and Dean are attached. Sam and Dean have not changed generation, but Spike has decreased, becoming more powerful.
Spike had three childer, remember? The one with the biggest bloodline stays to become Blood siblings with Sam and Dean. Congrats, Willow!
But what of Buffy and Angel? They are now beneath Willow. Their generation appears unchanged, but their places were shuffled. As Willow now has three childer, Buffy, Angel, and Mina, the system stops. It would have continued in the same manner had Willow's childer slots been full. And don't get me started on how complicated it gets if Simon were an Emperor.
MOVING ON.
Those of you with lots of descendants will find your blood pools are larger. Good on you! You can call on the resources of your strong Bloodline.
Two new abilities have been added to Sanguis:
TUNE
----
You may BLOOD TUNE to align your mind with your childer. This will let you hear their thoughts made using the THINK command.
RILE
----
You may BLOOD RILE to force all of those in your bloodline to gain the defenses of Concentrate, Blur, and Shadow... provided they have the skill for those. They will not use blood, and you will use blood roughly equal to that which you gain extra because of your deep Bloodline.
The Imperial Dominion has lots of commands, as if they were a guild. Some aren't there yet, but that is because I am a little slow and I didn't consider them important. Also, because knowing how to address your superiors is always so difficult, Razmael has come to your rescue!
PEERAGE <target>
----------------
This will tell you all the information you need to know about a fellow Imperial Dominion member's titles! It also has the added benefit of letting you know if that rank is temporary due to their disgusting lack of a Sire. For shame!
