20.11.166 Cantor's Copse
Long had the Edge of the Kalydian suffered under rot and decay, a foul place overrun with filth and corruption that exceeded that of even the neighbouring wood. Once the resting site of Valakris, the Bellower, the aberration's remains were burned by Ethne, the Rekindled in the Year 501 of the Midnight Age, Her act an overture to a great ritual of life that would see the wood's edge renewed. Healed by the efforts of Yanai, an Elder Goddess of Life, and Her troupe of supporters, the Edge of the Kalydian was transformed by the Song of Creation: no longer the dead reaches of a long-corrupted forest but reborn as the Cantor's Copse. This small grove is a place of fecund foliage and healthy trees, eschewing the iron and stone of man-made civilisation in favour of living wholly from the bounty of nature. Nestled around a freshwater spring in the Copse's centre, the glade has become a home for the Arborean people: a race of tree-like humanoids lost to time and memory until the Earth's enchanted Song brought them back into the world.
